Las Vegas, Nevada City Hall
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
EDUCATIONAL, GOVERNMENTAL, YES...
BUT... PUBLIC ACCESS, NO- IT'S NONEXISTANT.

MUCH TO THE SURPRISE OF THE WORLD, THERE
IS NO PUBLIC ACCESS TELEVISION IN
THE LAS VEGAS FRANCHISE AGREEMENT!

THE FRANCHISE ONLY CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT-CONTROLLED "EG"ACCESS (EDUCATIONAL/GOVERNMENTAL
IN THE FAMOUS NEVADA CITY.

INTERESTING OUT TAKES FROM CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA FRANCHISE AGREEMENT:

Page 14. SUPPORT OF LOCAL CABLE USAGE
(C) Educational Access Channels shall be programmed by a non-profit entity ("Access Manager") selected and directed by a Board ("Educational Access Board"). The Educational Access Board shall have eight members, appointed as follows

(i) three members appointed by the [cable] Company; (ii) one member appointed by the Clark County School District; (iii) one member appointed by the University of Nevada at Las Vegas; (iv) one member appointed by the Community College of Southern Neveda; (v) two members appointed by the RTJ Communities.

(D) Each year during the Cable Franchise term, the City shall provide an annual matching grant to the Access Manager, [etc., etc., etc., it goes on.]

NO MENTION OF PUBLIC ACCESS, JUST COMPLETE CONTROL OF EDUCATIONAL AND GOVERNMENTAL ACCESS...
In short the "P" is left out of PEG with no provision for Public Access- only Educational or Governmental
at the whim of the City Fathers.
